WHAT IS IT?
A technology class is among the requirements for graduation from the Issaquah School District. The Software Technology class fulfills this requirement and counts toward required Occupational Education credits. The Software Technology class includes skill development in Basic Computer Navigation, Internet, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, voice recognition, and web page design.

If your student is already proficient in those skills, he or she may receive an exemption from the Software Technology class by demonstrating 80% mastery on the District's Technology Proficiency Test.

Students are permitted to take the exam once each school year up through Fall Semester of their Junior year. If they have not passed the test by the end of Fall Semester of their junior year they MUST register for the Software Technology course.

The test is facilitated through an online program using the Office 2007 software.
