Counselors at Pacific Cascade Freshman Campus are committed to helping
students maximize all the benefits of a high school experience. To this end,
Counselors provide an array of support services and guidance for students and
their families. Frequently, Counselors serve as a communication link for
students, parents, teachers and administrators on a wide variety of issues,
including:
- Coordinate the transition from middle school to PCFC, and from PCFC to IHS
and SHS.
- Consult with individual students to support academic achievement.
- Help students map a four year high school academic plan that guides them
through any of our district comprehensive high schools.
- Advise on post high school plans, including college entrance requirements.
- Advise on college entrance exams.
- Provide an opportunity for students to talk through their concerns and
help resolve issues with teachers, peers and family members.
- Support students and their families during times of crisis.
- Provide students and their families with school and community resource
information and referrals.
- Develop support groups for students to share common issues.
- Teach personal, social and life planning skills to classroom groups.
- Work with classroom teachers to develop teaching strategies for at-risk
students.
